We will also free the spirit through dancing to rock music like Wild Woman; gentle movement to meditative music and discussion of the evolutionary process and how it affects our bodies and the way we use them. All exercise and movement periods are adaptable to a wide range of age, experience and flexibility. Wear cool, comfortable loose clothing and sneakers or other supportive athletic shoes. Winter's Presence
Winter is a time for looking inward. Connect with the deep core within and experience gratitude, wonder, and a deep sense of  presence. "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." -Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
We will share some poems and quotes to begin our day and to help us slow down and begin the inward journey. We will then draw in pencil as we make ourselves present to objects from nature. For those who so desire, simple drawing instruction will be offered. At the end of the day we will share our discoveries. Bring favorite quotes and poems, sketchbooks and journals. Drawing paper and pencils will be provided.
No artistic experience or talent required.

The Seven Key Points of Mind Training

The Buddhist mind training teachings acknowledge the awakened heart as our basic nature, which can be recognized through contemplative practice and meditation.  The Seven Key Points of Training the Mind, originally taught in Tibet by the renowned Buddhist scholar, Atisha Dipankara in 1042, are widely practiced methods for taming the mind.  These practices engender a fresh perspective, moving the practitioner from the effort to control to being present to what is.  This spiritual practice is relevant, practical and powerful and engenders the authentic compassion that arises from the experience of the interconnectedness of all beings.  Khentrul Rinpoche will provide an overview, deepening and completion of this traditional training.  Beginners are welcome.

"...We are the Temple of the Living God,,,"(2 Corinthians 6:16)

Yoga (“yoke,” “join together”) helps to join together body and mind, the human being and the Divine, the self and the world. It becomes a means of growing in the centeredness that contributes to holy living, as we unite our prayer with our bodies and our bodies with our prayer. In the practice of Christian yoga, our intention is to deepen our awareness in Christ.  No experience with yoga is necessary. The day will include gentle yoga postures adapted and modified for people who wish to relieve stress, relax, be revitalized and heal. Deep relaxation techniques will include meditative time with inspirational music and Sacred Scripture.
